Nikon’s Best Value Camera?
The Nikon ZR might be great value, I’d still pick the Zf or Z5ii? Photo-first cameras are more versatile for most, and though the ZR beats these two in video, it probably won’t work for photo. How do I know? I own the Sony FX3 - the ZR’s biggest rival, and though it can take amazing photos, Sony made 7 photography compromises. Did Nikon do the same? If the ZR is usable for photo is it now the best value?
Is Chasing the Dream Photo Desk Worth it? | Sirui 20mm T1.8 1.33X, Desky Desk
My new dream photo desk can go from top down flat lays to virtual backdrop product shots at the click of a button, all without light stands or huge softboxes in this tiny studio. From photo and video editing, work Zoom calls, to gaming after hours, this setup can do it all, but the biggest cost isn’t the desk, mics, or cameras. Instead - the opportunity cost, spending all my time in here when I should be creating out there. What’s out of frame decides what’s inside it.
My Go-To Lens for Travel: Dreamy Vs Reality? Nikon 85mm f1.8 S vs Sirui 85mm f1.4 Aurora
It took 100,000 frames on my last Japan trip, before I realised the Nikon 85mm f1.8 S had become my go-to travel lens for the Nikon Zf. 85mm is common, f1.8 nothing special, but to date none of the other options beat Nikon at anything other than price. Sirui’s 85mm 1.4 is the first third party 85 offering something more than just a bargain, but is dreamy rendering the best choice for travel photography? I want to capture the surroundings in a way that best matches my memories, because once the trip ends I’m forced to come back down to reality.
